Description

THIS LISTING IS FOR THE MENS/UNISEX CUT OF THE SHIRT. (There is a separate listing for the womens cut of the shirt.)

Amusingly enough, this design had its start as part of a very impromptu Mardi Gras costume, a riff on my other popular design "Keep Loving Keep Fighting." My gang of gals was doing a group theme of "The Justice League" and so my superhero was SISTER RESISTER! I adapted the basic fist-inside-a-heart design of KLKF to say SISTER RESISTER and added a women's symbol on the wrist of the fist. (I had a pink cape and mask and looked hilarious!)

Later in the spring, there was a "Nasty Woman" art show to benefit Planned Parenthood and I decided to do a painting of the SISTER RESISTER design to donate to the show. It was 12"x12" in pink and white and I added all these words around the outside of the heart, sort of emanating like outward rays, that were words used to describe women, particularly strong, rebellious or non-conforming women - some positive, some negative. I loved how it turned out and everyone who saw it told me to make a t-shirt design of it. The painting sold at the show but luckily I snapped a really good picture of it and was able to digitize the design through Adobe Illustrator, and eventually made a screen of it. It didn't turn out perfect but that is part of the charm of doing handmade work - I still thought it looked awesome enough to print.

I decided to keep the hot pink/magenta color as a sort of ironic nod to the stereotype of pink being a feminine color - the hot pink is bold as hell! The design is around 7.5"x8". The shirts are Next Level brand 100% ringspun cotton (thin, soft) unisex crew cut in a light gray color. (Not athletic/heathered gray; more of a warmer light gray.)

THIS IS A DIY PRODUCT, hand silkscreened on my kitchen table by me, using water based Speedball fabric inks. I am not a professional print shop, but that doesn't mean it's not a high quality product. These shirts hold up well to machine washing as long as you remember to WASH IN COLD and DRY ON LOW for best results.

Returns and exchange details

I no longer accept returns of any kind. If something has been damaged in the mail en route to you, convo me and we can work something out. But otherwise, if you buy it, it's yours. I've been burnt way too many times by people trying to return things for bogus reasons and dragging transactions out over months, so I will no longer do that. If you don't like this policy, don't buy from me.

Shipping policies

All orders are shipped within five business days (because this is not my full time job and sometimes it's hard for me to get to the post office during open hours). I like to send out via USPS Priority Mail but will sometimes offer 1st class for lighter objects since it will be cheaper. No international shipping at this time.

Additional policies

I am occasionally open to custom orders and/or commissions - it usually depends on how busy I am and how quickly you need something. Message me to discuss.
