The short answer is yes. If you drop them on a hard surface they will surely break. Hydrostone is sort of like a cross between plaster and cement. Hands or arms that stick out from the body of the piece are the most breakable. Beware of small children and cats!

We have very few retail stores that sell our products, and only one that sells the entire line. When you buy in the retail store, you will not get a signed by the artist piece, and while you won't pay shipping the price will be slightly higher than it is here to cover their shipping.

Many sculpture reproductions are mass produced and machine cast, such as the resin pieces you see that are produced in China and shipped back here. We have one mold for each of our pieces (with the exception of one piece, which we have two). There are two of us working in BurdenStudio, myself and my husband. He is the mold maker and photographer - I am the sculptor. We both work at producing these pieces, mixing the hydrostone, pouring it in the mold, de-molding it, cleaning it up and doing all the finish work, all by hand.

We do our very best to pack each piece to prevent breakage, however, breakage does happen sometimes. All you need to do is contact us, send us a picture of the damaged piece, a picture of the box and the packing materials (as we need that to file a claim with the shipper) and we will immediately send you a replacement piece. No need to return the damaged piece to us. In fact, we will even tell you how to repair it, if you want to and then you will have two!

I love Willow Tree! The main difference between our pieces and Willow Tree is our Women of the Way and Mighty Men of God and Worship the Lord collections are focused on Christ and the Christian walk. We have a scripture on the bottom of each piece and a small card that contains the story or inspiration behind the piece, all having to do with the Christian walk. Also our pieces are hand cast and finished, each one, here in the USA, by the artists. Willow Trees are mass produced in China. Because of this, you will not find our sculptures in everyone else's house. We're not much for marketing (we're artists), so people have to find us somehow.

Yes, we do! Many of my original terracotta clay or paper clay pieces are not faith based. I have paper clay dogs, some western busts, paintings, etc sprinkled throughout the site.
