Description

Mediaeval Scotland With Chapters on Agriculture, Manufactures, Factories, Taxation, Revenue, Trade, Commerce, Weights and Measures, By RW Cochran-Patrick. Published in 1892. This is a 1st edition by James Maclehose And Sons of Glasgow, who were publishers to the University. In good antique condition.

The contents are in good condition for a book of 126 years old. The rough edged pages are clean and tightly bound. There is some mild tanning, mostly around the page edges where they protrude (see photos) and heavier to the rear endpaper. It is possible that the front free endpaper is now missing, it is hard to tell. There is also a superb, elaborate book plate on the front pastedown (see photos). Otherwise there is no writing or other signs of previous ownership. With several black and white illustrations.

Maroon cloth boads have fared very well over the book's long history. There is a bump to the edge of the top board, some faint thin scratch marks on the rear board and rubbing to the corners. All of these are mild and the overall appearance of the boards is very good.

The spine is also looking good. There is just some rubbing to the cloth at the head and tail, otherwise the colours are strong and un-faded with lovely gilt lettering and a thistle vignette.

Your copy of Mediaeval Scotland will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon.

H 23 cm x W 15 cm, 200 pages plus 24 page publisher's catalogue at the rear, 0.62 kg. I dispatch worldwide* daily from the UK. Further shipping information can be found in the shop policies section if required.
*There are just a very few countries which I am unable to ship to.

I aim always to post within one business day and use Royal Mail within the UK and Standard Airmail Service abroad.
For International orders I aim to deliver in 10 working days but this may take longer due to delays such as Bank Holidays, customs or weather etc. Please be aware items very occasionally get held up at customs and there is nothing the buyer or seller can do to speed this up. Royal Mail Airmail is a very reliable service but please note their delivery window before an item is considered undelivered is 20 working days for Europe and 25 working days for the rest of the world. I will be unable to pursue a claim for lost mail until these dates have been reached. Tracking and insurance are provided for valuable items.
Economy / Surface mail quotations will always be provided upon request.
For delivery outside the UK customs forms and documents will be completed, however, you may be liable for import tax duty.
If buying from outside the UK your item will arrive with the correct customs labels and documents. Please note that the price of the item in pounds sterling has to be included on the outside of the parcel on the customs forms.
Your parcel will arrive wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon at no extra charge.
