Description

From the "Teeny Tiny Kidney Collection" comes this sweet, petite little sterling silver charm for Euro style bracelets, or as a pendant necklaces and cords. Size is 27mm long from top to bottom x 4mm wide. You are purchasing just the charm on the narrow band ring. The last 2 photos are just for illustrated use on chains.

In my shop, you'll also find this little kidney bean in a pendant as well as matching earrings. Please take a look!

These are great gifts for those involved in a kidney transplant, either recipient or living donor, perhaps a wonderful clinic coordinator, or any supporters along the way. Get a matched pair for both a living donor HERO and her recipient. Makes a sweet gift for a friend who is donating a kidney to someone and is quiet about her noble act. This will fit all but the heaviest of chains and includes the large named brands of charm bracelets. These are subtle since they are so small. They are also super lightweight. Can be worn on cords,

As a long time kidney patient, I began making jewelry for a living in 1991. AfterI had my transplant in 2002, I designed a small line of kidney shaped jewelry. My non kidney jewelry is mainly about found objects, semi precious gemstone beads and vintage/antique glass beads. Up until my transplant, I also made sterling pieces and even glass beads over a torch, called Lampworking. After my transplant however, I was no longer able to work in studios where there were chemicals, acids and fumes to contend with, all things that could cause harm to my precious kidney gift. You may not be aware that our kidneys are the body's filter. Most everything that we breathe or ingest gets filtered through the kidneys. Transplant recipients have only 1 working kidney so it is important not to overload it with too much filtering.

I serendipitously found a studio overseas that now manufacturers many of the components I use in my jewelry. Because of this studio, I have been able to grow my kidney line by designing new pieces and parts with careful specifications. They are then cast/finished in sterling silver by skilled silversmiths and I couldn't be more pleased with their quality and workmanship.

My kidney jewelry originally came about as a way to create a gift of gratitude for my own living donor. It now provides quality gifts for other recipients looking for ways to show their gratitude for being given the Gift of Life. I've sold my little kidneys to recipients in every US state as well as many countries on 5 of our 7 continents.

Shipping the last 6 weeks of the year will be by Priority since First Class is very slow during the holiday rush. I don't want any disappointed customers still waiting for their items to arrive AFTER Christmas.
