This elephant close-up is as fun to look at as it was to paint!
Looking at this painting from a distance, you will be face to face with a colorful elephant.. but up close, it's easy to get lost in the colors and texture of the paint to the point that you forget what you're even looking at! That's what I love most about this painting.
I also love how the colors overlap to create so many layers and give the painting depth. The splatter paint gives the artwork a childlike, energetic quality. Every time I look at this piece, I notice a new area that I love!
I also appreciate the steady, calm demeanor of the elephant. I imagine she is comfortable to be in our presence and there is a mutual respect between us. The image is cropped to show that she is close to us and we occupy the same space.
