Three handmade ceramic buttons.
These embossed stoneware buttons are handmade one at a time in my studio. Leaf stamps were used to make recessed impressions while the clay was still wet.

They were then fired and hand glazed with a rich grass green, that shows each detail clearly. They were then re-fired to a very durable high cone 6 in my electric kiln.

Stoneware buttons are much more durable then earthenware and even more durable when fired to cone six.

Each button has a shank on the back which is the best for sweaters and knits. The buttons have been carefully sanded and smoothed so that they won't snag on your delicate fabrics.

These buttons can be washed on the gentle cycle with the garment turned inside out or hand washed.

Use these buttons to grace a new creation of yours, whatever it may be...a bag, a scarf, a book, a hat, shawl or handbag! The perfect finishing touch to your project.

Each button is approximately 1.5" (3.8 cm) x 1/8" (0.3 cm) out of stoneware clay. Very light and delicate (yet strong!)
