Description

This one is a 3-inch-wide, 4-inch-deep mini hand drum. You can play it with your finger and it makes a little tone. They're made with the same real rawhide head material as the bigger drums, and the shells are a 3-ply pine. Sounds like a very high bongo drum.

You can set it on your desk, hang it from your tree, play it with a group, or use it to get cool little sounds for a recording. It's stained and clear-coated for protection and has a nice appearance.

Playing drums is fun!

I started making drums because I was seeking a unique sound and form factor, but one that was also made of natural materials - something that would be playable to any kind of music, whether it be Latin rhythms, Jazz, or even Rock or EDM music! It would have to be capable of being a first-class instrument to use in the most discriminating of recordings or performances. I take these drums out to play with friends around the campfire or at venues, and I also record music with them at the studio. I make them with careful attention in my workshop in Austin, TX.

The listing is for this exact drum, pictured - It's already made and in stock - ships right away.

FAQs

For the Drums: All natural skin drums are sensitive to moisture in the air. In an extremely high humidity environment, the drums sound lower, and in a lower humidity one, the drums sound higher. Neither condition is permanent, and will return to normal. If the drum becomes too low-pitch, the solution is to control the humidity in the room to about 50% or so. I've written a "Drum Care Guide" to help you further understand the care of these drums. A copy of it will be shipped with each drum. To read it now, it's published on the main website:
