Note that this reserved listing includes the case only; the doll, wigs, and wig stand are not included.

This wonderful vintage Fashion Queen Barbie set includes all original 1960s items: the FQ doll, three wigs, a bright red carrying case, and a wig stand that fits inside the case. Except for a mishap with a few of Barbie's fingers, this set is for the most part in very good condition.

The Barbie herself has the FQ head, with brown molded hair and heavy blue eye makeup. She has very little paint loss (just a bit in back of the hair and on her eye lashes; the lips, eyebrows, and rest of the eyes look great). She's missing her blue band and earrings. There's no green around the ears.

The body is marked on her right bum Barbie TM, Pats Pend c MCMLVIII by Mattel Inc. On her left bum is 81, and her foot has the remnants of Japan. Note that the this is not the ususal body for an FQ Barbie, which was released in 1963. The 1960 Barbie was the last to have Barbie TM (instead of a register mark). As noted, the right hand has lost four fingers; the pinkie still has some nail polish; the left hand is in good shape with about 70% of its nail polish. There are a few marks on the back and some pink discoloration around the hips and bum (magic marker, I presume). Otherwise, it's in very good shape, with tight, movable limbs.

The three wigs all look good, with no noticeable hair loss; the two long ones are in need of a style. The wig stand (which fits inside the case) has a split in the middle (as is common) but is still holding together. It looks like there's been some melting on the circles where the wigs go, and hair sticks to them.

The case (from 1963) is in very good condition. The colors are bright, the zipper works well, and the handle's in great shape. There's a small area where the bottom piece has pulled away from the top piece, but it doesn't affect the use of case or even the looks. There's also a few small spots of color loss on the bottom. Inside, there's some green marker on the inside lid, and the polystyrene liner, which holds the doll, wigs, and clothes, has some holes in it. The metal mirror is still there.

Please let me know if you have any questions or want to see more pictures. This set belonged to me (or my sister) in the 1960s and is in played with condition (but better than some of our dolls!).
