Take a super hot needle, when the needle turns red/orange under a flame, immediately place the needle into an amber bead. Choose a bead that won't be noticeable as it will leave a mark, like a bead next to a clasp. Heat the needle and quickly pierce the bead. True amber should not melt quickly.
