1900's turn of the century Gown

This beautiful Gown is a 1900's turn of the century gown. It is in mint condition & was appraised at "the Antiques
Road Show". The fabric is very delicate & should be handled with utmost care. When showing or other wise handling this Gown, I would suggest using white gloves to avoid staining from the oil on ones hands.
At this time of the century zippers & buttons were not yet in use. The gown is fastened via a series of very small delicate snaps at the neck & down the side, as well as around the waist The sash is also snapped in place.
The gown is longer in the back than the front therefore it would be wise to protect it from being stepped on to protect it from tearing.
This item should never be hung. It will be shipped wrapped in linen to protect it from pulling and dampness. My suggestion ,if you are not familiar with the care of antique fabric, is you consult an antique clothing expert for advice on further maintenance. ENJOY!
