This cape is kitten soft and nicely detailed. I believe the lining is silk, though I can't find a loose thread to do a burn test. The outside is deep black and the shoulders are dramatically squared. This cape has a few oddities about its construction. It has no armholes, so it's meant to rest on your shoulders. It also has no buttons or other closures, the 'buttons' at the neck are glued on and are purely ornamental. So you'd have to hold this closed with your hands or use a sweater clip. It does have nice deep pockets. It is in overall wearable condition, but does have some issues. The velvet is worn down at the tops of the pockets (as pictured) and at the corner of one of the shoulders. It has a spot on the front where the velvet is crushed as though something were clipped there. The lining is also worn at the top of the neckline and at the bottom hem. This will accomodate a range of sizes, probably best for a medium to extra large. I measured it flat across the front, without doubling:
