Description

Sorry, we could not translate this listing to English.
One must go with the mind in the nineteenth century to give a significant iconographic citation of the Launeddas.

In fact it is the epoch of a "curious" and descriptive anthropology, that of the "travellers", whose civil society of Sardinia offered the unusual or unpublished spectacle of its ceremonial robes, of its feasts of the strongly ritual structure, of its special relationship with the Death, with the struggle. The only seemingly simple life of Sardinia, with its high quotient of anthropological unforeseen, demanded special attention, close but distinct from the representations of men and circles of the indefinite but very narrated Orient and the Mythical African territories.

In This ancient historical period I drew my inspiration on a musical instrument that did not exist before.

The Launedda (singular of launeddas) is a common reed equipped with a very thin reed, pure of barrel grafted to the first, on which is cut to three centimeters from the knot a tongue. Above this tab is applied a bullet of wax that, heating it slides up and down to obtain the perfect chord with the other two launeddas joined to the first, degrading in order of length, thickness and tone.

This wonderful instrument is a specialty of the countries of the Campidano, in the other regions of Sardinia are unknown. This rarity has given me the right charge and inspiration for my work, to ensure that you do not forget this extraordinary traditional Sardinian instrument.
