Description

The first photo is the closest to true colour...but it does not show off the exquisite rich gold color like it should! I will try to get more photos but I find with my lighting ...and older camera...and lack of editing software and skills...my tencel photos never do the colours justice!

Bright bold gemstone colours...or any time you like a hit of color ...and the perfect accent to any wardrobe...wish I could get the better color to show as this scarf is exquisite in "real life". And the drape is just amazing...I've never had anyone step away for the soft touch of tencel. Great for travel since the creases come out quite readily. and the drape is so lovely around a person's neck....people always love this yarn :)

Tencel is hypo-allergenic and will not felt when washed. You can wash it in the gentle cycle but I suggest that - to keep it looking it's best - that you hand wash this scarf, squeeze out the water - do not wring handwovens - and then put it in the dryer for a while - or just hang to dry. I like to give tencel a press before while still a touch wet and it will dry up to feel fresh and light and smooth on the skin...and with Tencel the wrinkles will hang out so no worries when you get a few creases in it. Feels like silk - but it's not silk. Easy care , loses it's creases, great colour, and soft next to the skin....it doesn't get much better than that!

Each scarf is made on my floor loom by hand - no machine powered equipment here! Slow fashion they call it....this scarf is oh so stylish! The warp colour - that is the yarn that is threaded onto the loom - is black and the colour I weave back and forth between these strands is a bold colour. Once I cut the scarves off my loom, I twist the fringes by hand to give a beaded look at the ends. And then I wash, dry and hard press them. They are 8 by 64 inches plus generous twisted fringe.

One of the photos shows where my tension was a bit off - others would call it a "design element" but I wanted to be honest with you and let you know....just proves that I REALLY do weave all my scarves on a non-computerized loom!

As mentioned above Tencel scarves (also called Lyocell) is easy care and will go in the washer and dryer - but be gentle and never wring a handwoven item.....you can press it when it's almost dry and then the wrinkles will really fall out fast!

Returns and exchange details

I always do my absolute best in creating the items I sell but if for some reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact me before returning it, let me know the reason and I will issue a return authorization number. I must be advised within five (5) days of receipt regarding any returns – just no longer needed the item will not suffice, something must be wrong with the item unless we’ve discussed other options prior to shipping.. I will issue a complete refund (minus shipping) when you return the item providing it is returned promptly in the same conditions that it was sent (with no damage, smoke, must, perfume, ie in perfect resaleable condition). Please note that the customer is responsible for all shipping costs to send the item back to me.

Shipping policies

Please note that all parcels leaving Canada must have a Customs form that include your address AND a valid phone number. as of September 6th 2014. Your parcel can not be shipped without it so please include your phone number in the notes section with your order.

Orders will ship within 3-5 business days after receipt of payment and earlier if possible.

The shipping charge includes all postage and handling and packages are shipped via Canada Post expedited post. Package tracking is available at an additional charge (sometimes) in Canada and (almost always) in the US. If you would like the package tracked and additional insurance (as sometimes there is no insurance included) contact me and I can let you know the cost. Often with a tracked package shipping times are shorter as well.

I've always shipped everywhere around the world however it is a challenge to find a stable price to quote when there are so many variables! Oh my! So finally I have added International shipping - the prices are estimates. If I can send your item for substantially less I will issue a partial refund - if the price is quite a bit more I will let you know and either send an invoice for the difference or refund your purchase. Sometimes 2 items cost the same to ship as 1 - so I've not included additional pricing for second and third items etc....If I can combine shipping eg a blanket and towel - I will do that for you :). I am happy to give you an estimate for delivery - just ask me. Some items will be shipped with tracking number and insurance that can usually increase the cost of shipping. International shipments don't usually allow for either. Also items will be shipped in recyclable material whenever possible. Boxes may be used but that usually increases the cost. Blankets and shawls will be shipped in boxes (that may be recycled). For small items - I try to avoid plastic mailers whenever possible when they are non-recyclable. Manilla envelopes with bubble wrap inside are usually used for scarves, towels, table runners...smaller items - these are fully recyclable when separated. So many things to think about...and I've probably still forgotten something :)

And for local shipping too - if I can ship at a substantial savings for you I will. eg 1 towel sometimes (but not always) can be shipped as letter mail and then a modest $10 S&H charge will apply instead of for instance $20. In order to be shipped this way (remember letter mail is far slower than expedited...far slower) I won't use bubble wrap just a manilla wrap.

Please note International Customers are responsible for all customs fees, taxes, and duties associated with shipping to their respective countries.

Additional policies

I accept custom orders and will do my best to accommodate your color and fiber choices-please contact me further with your request as well as the timeline. Since I am always working in my studio, my looms and dye pots may already be committed for a set length of time –when we talk via email I will be able to give you a better time frame. Also if yarn needs to be special ordered there may be an unknown time interval involved. And a non-refundable deposit will be required to start any work. If for some reason I am unable to complete the commission (eg family, health), a refund will be made. There may be some exceptions but this is all I can think of for now .
Custom orders are non-returnable and non-refundable otherwise..
