Late spring and early summer daisies at a local farm inspired this floral art quilt. So many daisies are predominantly white this this one displayed more pink and purple shadows as the sun began to set. I created this art quilt in my home studio.
This art quilt began by using Inktense Colored Pencils and Textile Medium on 100% PFD cotton fabric to create the petals and background. Confetti cut batik fibers were added to capture the colorful center. Fine tulle holds the confetti in place before it quilting stitches secure it. Cool colored threads quilting accents the petals and flower center. A hand dyed rich purple and blue eyelash border accents the work. A dark green batik with hints of purple and blue creates the border and is repeated in the binding. Fiber art painting is backed with a striped pink cotton fabric as shown in the last photo.
