This beautiful brooch is almost entirely made from materials whose former purpose was no longer required.

The stylised leaf design was once a bisuit caddy tin (lithoprinted steel). The pin on the back is made by reforming a paperclip (very strong steel, just the right thickness for a pin). The colours are set off by the pink, semi-precious bead which nestles in its little tin cup.

The whole has been cut with a jewellery piercing-saw, filed, emery-papered and pressformed in my own home-made hydraulic press, using my own homemade templates. It is very light and of hollow construction, all to my own design as usual.

5x 3.5cm. Pin is 2.5cm long. (1 & 15/16ths by 1 & 6/16ths of an inch. Pin just under an inch long.)

Bottom picture shows an example of how my pieces are presented, bagged and gift-wrapped in vintage magazine / dictionary papers acquired from booksellers.
