Item details

This truly unique cup is a part of the Scandinavian style of wooden drinking cups used by outdoorsmen and -women for centuries. It's made from a Pine burl growing on a branch, and the only part added is a piece of moose antler on the back of the handle. The outside has been trimmed down and sanded, but the original shape has been kept as much as possible. The inside has been hollowed out by hand, no power tools have been used, and then sanded and oiled to bring out the drawings in the wood. There's a crack running through it that was filled with hardened glue, and the cup is waterproof. The entire cup has been treated with olive oil, and the outside has been waxed and polished. Also comes with a simple braided leather strap for hanging (not pictured).

This is THE perfect gift for the avid outdoorsman, or anyone who spends time in the forest and around fires. The bottom is round, which makes it ideal for sitting on the soft forest floor, and the burl wood is tough and sturdy. And I can guarantee with 99,9% certainty that you will never find another cup like this one.

All bone is washed properly, and sanded heavily to remove any material that may rot. The wood is properly dried for a long time before use, and also cut and sanded several times. At the end, they are coated with oil and a wax polish, so they will be safe for use.
All wood is taken from sustainable forest, and as long as it's feasible, without cutting down the entire tree or bush. The bones are leftovers from the local butchers.
As I am not running this shop full-time, it's difficult for me to say how long it will take to create something personal. It also depends on what the customer wants and how technically challenging it will be. If you are interested in a custom item, contact me directly and we'll see if we can make an agreement.
Yes, they are. I have three Alaskan Huskies that have been gnawing on bones since they were puppies, and they have no problems eating and breaking them up now, as adults.
