A series of modern blackwork interpretations of traditional quilt blocks! These quilt blocks are quick and easy to stitch and look awesome as small decorations or finished as classy ornaments or pincushions. You can also "piece" them together into a larger blackwork quilt!
The outline is done using perle cotton instead of embroidery floss, giving each "piece" of the quilt block a bold definition. Each "fabric" in the quilt block is represented by a different filling stitch that's custom designed to complement the geometry of the block. At only 32 by 32 stitches and with plenty of white space, this is a super quick project for experienced stitchers who may want to make a bunch of gifts or party/wedding favors for quilters. It's also a nice first project if you've always been wanting to venture into blackwork!
This pattern set includes four blackwork quilt blocks: Windblown Square, Old Maid's Puzzle, Road to Oklahoma, and See Saw. The stitched sample is Windblown Square on 16 count Aida. You can see previews of all four blocks in the last image in the listing.
** If you've already purchased the first block and want to complete the set, send me an Etsy Conversation using the e-mail/account you bought the old block in and I'll send you a 30% off coupon!
** If you would like only one of the quilt blocks, send me a conversation and I'll create a listing for you specifically to purchase that pattern for $4.
