Description

1 0z contact if you need bulk...

Wildcrafted and ethically harvested in pristine and ultra environmentally progressive Iceland by intergenerational herbalists, gentle sun dried and lovingly prepared and fair trade. Our master teacher of herbalism is in Iceland and we use the symbols and lore as part of our own heritage as well, preserving and bringing back traditional herbalism, spirituality, and artisan crafts of the Northern Tradition.

This is one of those modest but powerful plants that earns its place in the apothecary from its sheer pragmatc uses and vitality giving potency. This is an herb to get through harsh winters, flus and illness, when the body needs that deep cellular level mineral and nutrient dense plant energy. Iceland moss is a medicinal lichen with an ancient history. It is a favorite herbal tea or ingredient in healing winter herbal teas, or a nutritious and tasty addition to soups, porridges and other recipes. Iceland moss is used for treating irritation of the mouth and throat, loss of appetite, common cold, dry cough, bronchitis, indigestion, fevers, lung disease, kidney and bladder complaints, and the tendency toward infection. Some people apply Iceland moss directly to poorly healing wounds. It was and still is used and known to have strong antibiotic, antiemetic, strongly demulcent and nutritive properties. Iceland moss is rich in mucilages and its soothing action is useful for conditions such as gastritis, gastric ulcer, hiatus hernia, and reflux esophagitis or heartburn.

It is thought to be a useful herbal treatment when used internally in the treatment of dysentery, chronic digestive disturbances (including irritable bowel syndrome and food poisoning).

Cetraria islandica was traditionally used for relief of vomiting arising from irritation and inflammation of the stomach. It may be a useful herbal remedy for low-grade stomach infections seen when there is low stomach acid production.

Iceland moss has been principally recommended in chronic pulmonary and digestive conditions, particularly phthisis ( a wasting condition also known as pulmonary tuberculosis), dyspepsia, and chronic diarrhea.

Cetraria islandica is understood to have both a bitter tonic action and a demulcent effect within the gut, a combination almost unique amongst medicinal herbs

Islaendisch Moos (German), Islandslav (Swedish), mousse d’ Islande, lichen d’Islande (French), liquén de Islandia (Spanish), puklérka Islandská (Czech), Islanninjäkälä (Finnish), erba rissa, Lichene Islandico (Italian), and fjallagras (Icelandic).

I've been trying to find authentic edelweiss seeds for quite some time and was so pleased to locate them here. Seller gives great customer service, even anticipating a potential problem with my order shipment and fixing it completely before I had to be troubled about it. I so appreciate that attention to detail and going the extra mile for a customer. I will shop again here and I recommend this seller.

Amazing quality for a great price! It actually costs me less to buy it here and ship it than buy a comparble product at the local health food store!
