Description

This handmade, wheel-thrown stoneware "chawan" or "tea bowl" was fired in a kiln to cone 6.

It's styled after a traditional Japanese variety of teaware called Hagi. It features a "crawling" glaze, which leaves some of the clay exposed. While it is all fired and will not leak, I can not call this "food safe" even though I would use it for tea ceremony. So please buy and use at your own risk.

This style of tea bowl is traditionally shaped for usucha or "thin tea" which is what most matcha fans are familiar with.

It's about 2.75" tall and 5.25" wide. Lead-free, mcrowave and dishwasher safe, of course.
