This is my man. This is my brilliant, creative, magnificent man. He is J.R.R. Tolkien himself, and he wrote the incredible, unbelievably magical, legendary Lord of the Rings. I first read the story in 1967 and have been entranced with Middle Earth ever since. I am very subjective about what I collect re Tolkien, and I bought five of Rachel's Tolkien paintings. They capture his creativity and imagination perfectly. Her care for his works, his vision, is one of the most genuine I have seen. And his portrait--look how she has found that twinkle in his eye, his quirky smile, his essence--perfect! He is the Lord of the Rings.

Really loved this Tolkien painting. I loved the pipe, the great expression on his face and the green tones. Already framed and on the wall. It’s become one of my favorite watercolors.

I love this portrait. The print is 8x10 but the dimensions of the art are slightly smaller, so it was difficult to find a frame/mat combination that suited it well. But it is really lovely artwork and I'm so glad to have it hanging in my classroom.
