Really loved this Tolkien painting. I loved the pipe, the great expression on his face and the green tones. Already framed and on the wall. It’s become one of my favorite watercolors.

This is my man. This is my brilliant, creative, magnificent man. He is J.R.R. Tolkien himself, and he wrote the incredible, unbelievably magical, legendary Lord of the Rings. I first read the story in 1967 and have been entranced with Middle Earth ever since. I am very subjective about what I collect re Tolkien, and I bought five of Rachel's Tolkien paintings. They capture his creativity and imagination perfectly. Her care for his works, his vision, is one of the most genuine I have seen. And his portrait--look how she has found that twinkle in his eye, his quirky smile, his essence--perfect! He is the Lord of the Rings.

Spectacular interpretation of Tolkien that somehow reflects his spirit: a fountain of mirth ready to gush forth.
