Description

Vintage mug by Burgess and Leigh Farmers Arms. This mug has a nice gold strip around the lip and a strip of gold down the handle. It is full of character with pictures of antique farm equipment. In 3 banners it reads GOD SPEED THE PLOUGH. On the back side in 3 banners it reads INDUSTRY PRODUCETH WEALTH.

The poem reads: Let the wealthy and great roll in splendour and state. I envy them not, I declare it. I eat my own lamb, my own chickens and ham. I shear my own fleece and I wear it. I have lawns, I have bowers, I have fruits, I have flowers. The lark is my morning alarmer. So jolly boys now, here's God speed the plough long life and success to the farmer.

This mug measures 3 3/8" Tall, and from rim to rim the opening measures 3 3/8" THIS MUG IS SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN THE OTHER MUG I HAVE LISTED FOR SALE.
