Description

Montana Pitch Blend Leather Oil Dressing is an all natural product made in America. It's a combination of mink oil and beeswax. It's great for restoring old leather and protecting new leather. Aids in waterproofing boots, belts, gun leather, knife sheathes, etc. just rub it in with your fingers. It works great. Not for suede type leathers. It will darken leather as do all conditioning products. The All Natural Montana Pitch Blend is what I use on all my leather items that I craft. I've tried many products and this is the best. The container holds 8 ounces of leather oil.

From the manufacturer:

Our LEATHER OIL is an exquisite conditioning oil for maintaining suppleness of leather while preserving the skin and providing water-resistance.

We blend together rich pure mink oil with amber pine pitch sap to create a golden amber oil ideal for leather care.

Conditioning preservative that naturally resists water
Replenishes natural oils & helps renew and beautify leather
Excellent for maintaining new leather & restoring neglected or antique leather goods

Instructions for both
Leather Oil & Conditioner (liquid)
Leather Dressing (soft wax)

Start with a clean, dry leather surface at room temperature for proper absorption.

Add a small amount of Leather Oil or Dressing into the palm of your hand then massage directly into leather.
Apply a thin, even coat (no need to over-apply)
If needed, finish by buffing briskly with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to help even out your application, pickup any excess product, and develop a rich glow to the leather.

FAQs

I use natural leather. Almost every item I make is crafted from Herman Oak Leather. It is vegetable tanned cowhides from cattle raise on US ranches. Hides account for about 5% of the value of the cow so no livestock is slaughtered just for the hide. They tan a product that otherwise would go to waste. Since it is a natural product the best care is using Montana Pitch Blend. For touch up I have the oil. For more water resistance I stock the paste. It works well to protect the leather. Some scratches can be fixed with boot polish wax of a close color. Higher shine can be achieved using clear wax boot polish.
I can not customize already completed projects. Oftentimes the leather needs to be cased or the change needs to be done before sewing or finishing. If you see a product you like send me a message with the changes you would like. I make my own items so if the custom order is within the scope of my craft ability I will let you know. In most cases I can complete projects in 3-14 Days.
I’m a one person shop. I can do a wholesale order but keep in mind my items are already priced on the low end of the custom market. I price them lower because I love the craft and I need to assure items move or I will need a bigger house. So if you are looking for multiple items let’s talk.
I make everything myself. I use either purchased patterns or ones I have developed or adapted over the years. Many have come from requests that turned out to be some great ideas!
I mainly make holsters for 1911 pistols, Double Action Revolvers and Single Action Revolvers. I make pancake and avenger style for some Glocks, the S&W M&P, and a few others. I can only make a holster for what I have available for molds. Revolvers and 1911s are the most common guns and covers a large variety. I also make western rigs and 1911 rigs. If you’re interested in a Western or 1911 complete rig send me a message because it’s better for me to craft them together. I get several people who buy a holster then ask for a matching belt. The problem is each hide varies some because it’s a natural product and dye lots vary in color. It’s also easier to make a matching pattern when I’m doing it at the same time.
