Description

Vintage porcelain gold and fruit motif decorative plate trimmed in 22 K gold. Hyalyn porcelain was made in Hickory, NC. The plate is art pottery made with white clay. The plate has a wide gold/yellow band trimmed in gold. Fruit in peach, plum, gold, and pink/red colors with green leaves is featured in the middle of the plate and is encircled by 22K gold as well. The plate is vintage and used but is in nice condition with no chips or cracks. The gold trim shows some scratches but the plate, on the whole, is very shiny and the colors are vibrant. The plate is approx. 8" round. This would look very pretty on a shelf or on the wall or even used as a catch all on a table, as the rim on the plate is high, making it a bit like a shallow bowl.

Hyalyn Pottery was founded in 1946 by H. Leslie Moody and his wife Frances Moody. Many of the pieces produced by Hyalyn were designed by Frances Moody while her husband focused on formulating the many glazes used on the pottery. Hyalyn produced a variety of porcelain including kitchen ware, tableware, figurines, ashtrays, statues, etc. Hyalyn was in production for more than twenty-five years under Leslie Moody's management until the early 1970s.
