IMPORTANT: Buyer must commit to checking email during the days following placing his/her order. Buyer must approve proofs prior to seller printing labels. Sometimes emails from Etsy Conversations wind up in SPAM. Buyer should be aware of this. Proofs will be provided in 1-2 weeks. If the buyer does not respond to Etsy Conversation notices or direct emails within 72 hours, orders will be printed and shipped without benefit of approval. **TITLE/FARM NAME - name in the middle of the top label and front side label. One title only. No tag lines or additional phrases. The longer the title, the smaller the letters will be.

**TINY SIDE LABEL INFO - What you would like on your side/info label (1" x 2 5/8"). Customers sometimes choose, "Please Return Clean Cartons," "laid on" with lines for writing, their contact information, bacteria warnings, etc. Please tell us exactly what you would like to see. Farms maintaining compliance with local regulations by including their address should request that the address be placed here. Remember this label is very small. Only choose 2 items from suggested list. We do not use font smaller than 10pt on labels. Customers may request FDA Safe Handling Labels in lieu of custom side labels. **LONG SIDE LABEL - DEFAULTS TO TITLE AND LEVEL OF CARE.

**DESCRIPTION OF EGGS - Labels will say, “12 Multi Size Eggs,” or "12 Assorted Eggs," or, by request, “12 Multi Size & Color Eggs.” Other descriptions are not FDA compliant and are confusing to customers.

**HOW MANAGED When you select “Free Range” or “Pasture Raised” from the drop down menu, we will automatically change the description on the label to match that level of care.

**ORGANIC - Chicks & Charmers will not include the word “organic” unless the customer is certified by the USDA under the National Organic Program.

**KOSHER - Chicks & Charmers will not include the word “Kosher” unless the eggs are certified by a Kosher certification organization.

ALSO NOT INCLUDED. Adding the names of your chickens, more than 2 items from this list (address, email, phone number, laid on or best by dates, please return clean cartons,). These changes MAY be possible, but require a phone consultation and a fee for custom design. If you require additional information that will require re-design of the label, please contact the shop PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR ORDER TO RECEIVE A QUOTE FOR EXTRA DESIGN TIME.

LEVEL OF CARE/HOW MANAGED

Free Range generally means: Birds are free to roam, nest and perch in a protected coop with access to the outdoors. Birds are never in cages (except for broody breaking and recovering from illness/injury). Birds may be allowed outside the coop, but this isn't everyday and is usually supervised.*

Pasture Raised generally means: Birds are free roam outside the coop at least 6 hours per day. Their foraging area is grassy and birds get at least a part of their nutrition from foraging. There are no more than 100 birds per 1/4 acre (108 sf per bird). Birds may be brought in at night for safety. It is understood that birds may not go outside when the weather threatens their safety.*

While some sellers offer a standard label size that one might find at Office Depot or from Amazon, our label stock was commissioned specifically for egg cartons (2.75" x 10" vs 8" labels found in other shops) and have rounded corners. Our products are completely full color, with no "white space margin" unless it is part of the design. We use commercial printers to provide you with the best quality product possible.

*These terms parallel the egg industry and may not reflect the way farmers typically understand their meaning. We encourage cruelty free practices. Our shop does not service farms that are only "cage free," and certainly not any caged or "battery" birds. Buyer also warrants that they do not use industry practices such as beak cutting or starvation to force molting.
