Each quantity is one of these lovely antique yarn balls.

These lovely antique French balls of linen yarn date from the 1800s! They are so beautiful for display, but they could still be put to use for thread in many hand made projects! ~ The thickness and tone of the thread varies in each ball as you can see in the photos. The thread of each ball was painstakingly hand spun. This practice was a cottage industry in the time these were created so they would have been made in rustic farm homes throughout the European countryside and then brought for sale or woven into other items. Linen can be made from hemp or flax and most of these balls are hemp. The threads can be quite fine but vary in thickness. ~*~ Beautiful and durable! ~*~ ( EB1 )

Measurements : These balls vary in size, weight and tone. I am selling them individually so please specify if you would like a lighter or darker tone (please see photos). On average they are about 5 to 7 ounces each.

CONDITION: These balls are in as found condition with light storage dust! ~ Gorgeous aged condition for a great authentic rustic look!
