This is a re-print of an illustration by Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 –1840), a painter and botanist.

This lovely botanical artwork is printed on strong, slighty cream coloured paper.
There is text on the reverse.
size of book plate: 8.5 x 12 inches (21,5 x 30 cm)

The print has been taken from a disbound volume of Redouté’s work, published in 1981.

This print would look great framed on its own, or displayed in a group.

Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 –1840), was a painter and botanist from the Southern Netherlands, known for his watercolours of roses, lilies and other flowers at the Château de Malmaison. He was nicknamed "the Raphael of flowers". He was an official court artist of Queen Marie Antoinette.
