During the war, it was more cost efficient to purchase these "blouse" inserts called dickies that you could alternate under your suits or sweaters in lieu of buying entire new blouses!

This one is in slightly stretchy cream cotton net with the ruffle around the neckline in cream floral-embroidered cotton gauze.

There is a full back and a full front, with ties at each bottom corner to tie and secure the dickie at each side.

There is a back "flat ruffle" behind the neck and a gathered ruffle that goes down either side of the front.

The net dickie is piped in cream cotton.

SIZE:
* one size fits all..but shoulder to base is 16 1/2" in the front and and 14 1/2 in the back
* the back flat ruffle is 1" wide and 13 1/2" long
* the gathered side ruffles are 2 1/4" wide

CONDITION:
* it is crisp with no stains and no holes in the net.
* the rest is excellent but I noticed there are 2 small holes in the outer ruffle on the left top corner of the front ruffle and the left top ruffle of the back ruffle (see photo close-up)

all vintage items are sold "as is"
