NATURAL DYES FAQ:
1. Will the colours stay if I wash it?
- Yes, natural dyes have been used for centuries and are safe to wash. They are not as resistant as synthetic dyes and may fade a little over the washes, but it's all part of their beauty.

2. How do I wash natural dyes?
- It is recommended to use a mild soap (baby soap) and cold water and to avoid prolong expositions under direct sun (don't leave it on the clothes line for 10 days!).

3. Are you using berries or things like that?
- Mostly no, I am using plant extracts that are well known for the durability, stability and light fastness. Some berries or fruits and vegetables are used but only if they have proven to be durable dyes.

4. Are you cultivating your plants?
- No, I have a big orange cat that kills every plant I try to keep. The only thing that can grow in my house is catnip. And it doesn’t grow very tall!

I started sewing at 4 years old and have never stop since then. Sewing is a real passion for me, it’s like paying an instrument for a musician. I do it all the time!
After a career in the fashion industry as a designer, manufacturer and teacher, I ended up in the e-commerce industry. But my passion for sewing was so strong, that I kept coming back to it all the time, and now I do it full time.
When my son started to need costumes for Halloween, I was thrilled to create him whatever costume he wanted. But I was always worried he would get cold. On the streets of Montreal, Quebec, it can be cold on October 31st! So I started making him warm costumes and all the parents were asking me where I have found my son's costume.
My Eco-conscious mind was demanding me to change and improve my costume business to align with my values of sustainability. After many months of thoughts and prototyping, I have launched a new collection of clothing for little ones made in the “slow-fashion” manner. I wanted to make it as green as possible so that’s why I decided to use only natural dyes and organic cotton.
I still make costumes but realized that the best public for eco-friendly products was babies with their very sensitive skins.
I love working with natural fibers like cotton, silk and wool. I love how they feel, how they drape and how they smell! Synthetic fibers don’t react the same way, are not as fun and certainly don’t smell as natural. I think that for babies cotton is the best choice due to its softness and easy care.
Yes, I enjoy every step of the process. I do everything myself from dyeing the fabric, making the patterns, cutting and sewing the garments but sometimes I have a little help from my teenager to package the final product.

I am trying to bring back the love of handmade products and help people be more aware of the impact of their choices as consumers of goods. I believe that we should not lose the knowledge and craft of making clothing and fabrics like our ancestors were doing.
Nature is my biggest inspiration especially for the colours. I use the colours that are available in plants and if I can’t produce it naturally, well I won’t use it. For example, obtaining a true vibrant red is very difficult on cotton, so I won’t fight with Mother Nature about that and offer other beautiful colours that are easier to obtain in a natural way.

I also love animals and I think they can be so adorable, so my prints and motifs are mostly inspired by them. Especially the ones that live in my region, which is Quebec in Canada.
Yes, I am open to wholesalers who would like to have my products in their boutiques. I am on Etsy Wholesale if you would like to see my linesheet. Otherwise, please don't hesitate to contact me for wholesale inquiries.
