This listing is for a collection of postcards belonging to Staff Sergeant Major Gerald Smyth of the Royal Naval Armoured Car Squadron.
He collected and dated a postcard for every city he was stationed in Russia, Romania and other surrounding countries during the first world war between 1916 and 1917.
The collection also features a few postcards addressed to Mr Smith himself from other members of the british army congratulating him on his engagement into the army and commenting on the quality of the trenches at the time.
This is an absolutely fascinating collection of postcards to own and feature some stunning images of Russia before the war.
