WE SHIP TO ZONES:

Zones 10-12 ship within 3 business days of order
Zones 9-7 begin shipping mid-April
Zones 3-6 begin shipping mid-May
Unfortunately, we are unable to ship to Alaska, California, and Hawaii

Typically perennial in zones 7 to 11 but can be potted out in most any zone to add gorgeous edibles to any home or landscape.

Planting time: After last frost in spring or in fall (up to 6 weeks before fall frost in cold zones)
Features: Aromatic grass-like leaves with lemon flavor
Light: Prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade
Soil: Fertile, moist
Spacing: 30 inches
Plant size: 36 to 48 inches tall, 36 to 48 inches wide
Garden use: Containers, herb and flower gardens, edible landscape, lovely texture
Culinary use: Use leaves and stems in Asian and other dishes, teas, medicinal

Lemongrass resembles an ornamental grass, forming tall clumps that add movement and texture to container and in-ground plantings. Plants thrive in moist soil and full sun to partial shade. To use, remove the leafy top and woody bottom, strip the tough outer layers, and mince or chop the white inner stalk for Asian-style curries, stir fries, and marinades. Use discarded parts to infuse a tea, broth or soup. Flavor intensifies the longer you cook it. Use lemongrass fresh, dry it, or freeze it.
Lemongrass loves full sun but we've had good harvests in a small amount of shade as well.
Shipped in moss with roots.

We look forward to another great year working with our wonderful past, as well as future customers.

We do our best to satisfy our customers with high quality goods and service. Please allow us to correct any problems with your order before leaving negative feedback.

Amazing customer service. Hands down experts! The first package of slips didn’t arrive healthy due to the heat, but they message me before the slips even arrived to warn me. They worked with me to try to revive the slips, and when the slips didn’t make it, they sent me more. Truly a great experience; they are knowledgeable and stand by their plants. I appreciate their assistance and quality service.

    Wildwood Edibles has been amazing!
I have ordered sweet potato slips from them for two years. The first year I got a huge harvest of wonderful sweet potatoes-- some bigger than my forearm!
This year I ordered the slips, and due to some unseasonably hot weather, they arrived in the mail looking very puny. I planted them, but, unfortunately, I could not save them. I messaged Christine and she immediately sent me a second batch which are doing great. I'm looking forward to another great harvest!

FAQs

Permaculture is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. The term permaculture was developed and coined by David Holmgren, then a graduate student, and his professor, Bill Mollison, in 1978. The word permaculture originally referred to "permanent agriculture", but was expanded to stand also for "permanent culture", as it was understood that social aspects were integral to a truly sustainable system as inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka’s natural farming philosophy.
