Item details

Birch log

A small flower vase made from a section of a birch tree log that was chewed through by beavers. The beaver tooth-marks form the top rim of the vase, and the always-popular look of the birch bark gives the piece extra appeal. The section of log is attached to a base made of walnut with a scalloped edge. The vase is coated on the inside with epoxy, so it will hold water indefinitely without harming the wood.

7 inches (18cm) tall and the log is 2.25 inches (6cm) in diameter.

This vase is a great way to hold and present cut flowers; juxtaposing one natural form with another. The smooth white bark of the birch log gives this piece a look that's cleanly modern and rustic at the same time.
