Up for sale is this awesome Argus Model A 35mm Film Camera made during the first year of production for this camera in 1936!

This camera has a shutter that is still snappy and an aperture that adjusts easily.

The only things we find wrong with the camera are: There is a chip in the bakelite above the lens, the back is kind of hard to open, and the original film release button has been replaced by a small screw that works quite well.

This camera has a telescoping lens. To take photos simply rotate the lens a little and it springs out. Then, turn it a little and it will snap into place.

This camera has a Argus Ilex Precise L.R.C.F. Antistigmat f4.5 lens. The aperture adjusts from 45 to 11. It has shutter speeds of 25, 50, 100, 200 and Bulb. The shutter appears to work properly in each speed.

We found the manual for this camera here: http://www.cameramanuals.org/argus/argus_model_A.pdf

We have cleaned the lens and the outside of the viewfinder lenses. The viewfinder lens still has a little dirt inside but gives a clear image.

A great old camera ready for 35mm film and to shoot pictures again!
