Description

Papa Doc's Seagulls are made with low fire earthenware clay and glazed with bright colors. The detail gives it a realistic appearance. Great for decorating a beach house!

We are selling three sizes of seagulls.

$15 Large - Approximately 6.25" x 6.5"
$8 Medium - Approximately 4" x 4"
$5 Small - Approximately 2.5" x 2.75"

These ceramic items are made using the following process:
William "Dock" Lindley designs and carves nautical models out of poplar wood.
These models are used to make molds using potter’s plaster.
Earthenware clay is pressed into these molds, then removed and detail is added.
After drying for at least a week these pieces are bisque fired using a kiln.
Last, they are glazed and fired again.

Even though we are using molds to make these, there will be slight variations in size and detail as each piece is made individually by hand.

Each seagull is signed on the back by K Lindley.

Hangers are attached to the back of the final product. Sawtooth hangers are glued to the large seagull using E6000 glue. A high temperature wire hanger is embedded in the small and medium seagulls before they are bisque fired.
