Great Dinner at Tahar Ben Zekri (Original title: Grand Diner Chez le Caid Tahar ben Zekri), is an original antique engraving plate published in Le Tour du Monde; Journal des Voyages et des Voyageurs by Edouard Charton in 1889. The vintage plate, which depicts Algeria, was engraved by Fortune Meaulle after Eugene Girardet.

The engraving, which is printed on a paper stock, has text and images on the backside with an overall size of (29.0x20.8cm) and a printed area of (23.9x15.9cm). The print is in Very Fine condition with minor creases, minor foxing, slim pencil & pen marks, light wrinkling, and normal age deterioration.

All the prints I offer in my shop are original antique prints, not modern reproductions. Each item is photographed, researched, graded and carefully curated to give customers the best information available about the history of each print. The grading system followed in the process is based on 15 different criteria after which the print is examined and rated accordingly. Please see scans for self evaluation.

Pinxit (from Latin: "one painted") is a stylized amendment added to the signature depiction of the name of the person responsible for a work of art, found conventionally in the Late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. It is sometimes abbreviated P, PIN, or PINX. Sculpt on the other hand (Sculptor) is a stylized amendment added to the signature depiction of the name of the person responsible for engraving or etching an artwork. In prints, Pinxt is located at the bottom left and Sculpt is located at the bottom right. Both are meant to tell the artist and the engraver.
Due to handling over the years some magazine pages collect creases or dog ears – mostly in the top or bottom corners. When straightened the crease line often still shows. Some paper stock is more prone to dramatic creasing then others.
The turned down corners of magazine pages usually as a result of bad storage rather than hand folding.
The ragged, feathery outer edges of magazine pages. Retrofair prefer to send a complete flat including the feathered edges rather than risk damaging the original when trimming.
