Inside Ken Holly's hardwood castle reside eight figures drawn from photographs of brass tomb effigies. Original watercolor renderings by Jacqueline Ernst illustrate the development of Medieval armor from the Complete Mail period (1300 AD) to the late Elizabethan era (1617 AD). Color is based on heraldry associated with the deceased as well as paintings of the period.
Each of the men represented had been a respected member of his community. Most were landowners; some were Patrons of the Church. Not all were knighted though each was armigerous. Details of their lives and loves plus the elements of armor that defined their time reveal the history of battle dress through the men who wore it.

Loved these... especially how each fish has a different expression... and a funny one at that! The sardine can was a hoot too! Somebody sure took their creative time doing this. Thanks!
