Description

Fully brazed industrial shelf brackets made to your sizes

Most brackets on Etsy are welded either by MIG or TIG which are modern electric welding processes. These use the parent metal to give a fused join.

Brazing is a more traditional and older technique where instead of melting the two pieces together using and electric arc, a flame is used to heat the metal up to red hot and then it is fused together with a brass filler rod.

This gives a joint which will not corrode and can also be polished up to a shiny yellowy gold.

It however is a more labour intensive process then MIG welding as well as using more expensive consumables so the cost is higher.

Supplied in a raw/bare steel finish. The bare steel will start to patina and change in colour over time. A wax finish or even a coat of varnish will slow down the process. They can be painted easily, metal paints work best. We like to leave them to see them change over time and a quick rub with wire wool every now and then keeps them looking sharp.

This listing is for a single bracket.

If you are wanting sizes other then the stock dimensions then please print off the drawing and put in your own dimensions.

If you are close to Stonehaven in northern Scotland then you are welcome to come in and see them being welded up, you can even have a go yourself (at your own risk)
