Description

This wonderful watercolor drawing is an original costume illustration from the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York from the 19th century. It is signed and dated by the costume artist and has various handwritten notes on the front and back pertaining to the specific actor or singer that the costume was being designed for and the particular act or scene from the opera.

This original costume illustration watercolor is of a beautiful blonde lady in a splendid Edwardian style yellow and white dress. Wearing a feather headdress and carrying a feather fan, she is the epitome of sophistication.

This drawing illustration is on thick cardboard and measures approximately 17.5 inches tall by 8-1/4 inches wide. The illustration is in very good condition with normal wear signs consistent of its 124-year age. The upper right-hand corner displays the stamp from the theater managing company, Abbey Schoeffel & Grau.

This authentic costume design watercolor from The Met is a fantastic piece of opera history.

I think this wonderful lady would look great in a little girl’s room or maybe hanging in a hallway or foyer.

The tea kettle arrived quickly and it was well-packaged.

The kettle is even more stunning in person. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
