Description

The Tragic Era: The Revolution After Lincoln by Claude G. Bowers is a Blue Ribbon Book that was published in New York. This is a deluxe edition.
It was copyrighted in 1929 by Claude G. Bowers.
This edition was printed and bound by The Cornwall Press, in The United States of America.

This book describes the United States of America after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. It includes subjects such as The Reconstruction , the Ku Klux Klan, and politics.

This is an absolutely beautiful book! It was bound with stamped leather that's painted blue, and has a very shimmery gold gilt. There are a few pictures throughout the text, and there is a frontispiece.

This book is in great condition! The covers are clean, but worn, faded, and rubbed in places. The leather spine is very sturdy and beautiful!!! There is wear on this, as well, which brings out a wonderful distressed look. The gold gilt is still bright!
There is shelfwear on the edges and corners.
There is the same number written inside both covers, but I couldn't find any other instances of writing throughout the book. The pages have aged perfectly to match the mood of the leather spine!
The text is clean and crisp, and the pages and binding are tight.
