Description

From the divinely good to the downright evil, all of your favorite characters from the entire epic Harry Potter series mingle here waiting for you! Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Voldemort, Malfoy, and even Hedwig, all handcrafted in a high quality-- and Gryffindor allegiant!-- matching solid patchwork pattern. I designed this Harry Potter quilt top and had it printed as you see it on one seamless piece of minky fabric; it has the look of a traditional patchwork quilt, but the softness and security of a single minky panel. It's the best of both worlds!

If you're unfamiliar with minky (or "minkee") fabric, it is a cuddly, silky soft blend that triumphs over comparable fabric options in every way. Warm and durable, it boasts an unrivaled thick plushness that is soothing and gentle on baby's delicate skin. Minky cuddle fabric sets the standard for decadent richness and softness, and is widely renowned as baby's favorite.

Personalization is available on this Harry Potter quilt at no extra cost (please see the second photo above for an example); please type the name exactly as you would like it to appear in the "Message to Seller" box at checkout. I'll send you a proof with your specified name so you can approve and alter it if necessary. If you choose this personalization option, please check your Etsy messages after purchase so we can finalize the type and make sure your quilt is perfect.

I've backed this Harry Potter quilt in matching burgundy satin, and I've listed various satin backing color options for you to select from during checkout (please see the last photo above for all the color options). In addition to being supremely decadent, satin manages to stay cool in the summer but holds warmth when it's colder. The favorite part of any baby's blanket is always the silky binding, so in addition to the full satin back, I've wrapped a satin strip around to the front of the quilt and double-folded it into a secure machine-stitched binding. The corners have been neatly mitered and triple-stitch reinforced for an extra degree of durability. This quilt washes like a dream-- both the satin and the minky get softer with time and use, and there's no shrinkage or fade.

I also make a minky-backed version of this quilt in more of a smooth-top blanket style, and you can find it listed here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/552675660/harry-potter-baby-personalized-baby?ref=shop_home_active_1

SIZES: 35" x 27"-- A generous size to tuck around your little one in the stroller, car seat, carrier, or swing. It's also a great size for a newborn wrap or a toddler's favorite lovey; it's a wonderful choice to spread out on the floor for some colorful and engaging tummy time, too. It will be the perfect addition to the erst of your Harry Potter decor. It's not a full-size crib quilt; though it's big enough to easily cover your baby in the crib, it isn't technically sized to be actual crib bedding. Please see the photos above for a comparison of the small and medium quilt sizes.

52" by 35" -- This size is more than big enough for a crib quilt and a great size for babies and little kids in general. Perfect for little ones to wrap up in for some couch snuggles, and outside of the nursery it's definitely large enough to drape over an armchair or the back of a sofa to add a one-of-a-kind accent to a Harry Potter nursery. Please see the photos above for a comparison of the small and medium quilt sizes.

70" x 52" -- This size makes a roomy and comfortable couch quilt for the grown up Harry Potter fan. It's wide enough to lay across the foot of a twin-size bed as an extra blanket, and it's a confident multi-purpose size for children and adults alike. Imagine this draped across the foot of bunk beds in the spring. How great would it be to wrap up in this softness in front of a campfire as the sun goes down? No one else has anything like it-- this Harry Potter quilt is one of a kind in like ten different ways.

Please ask any questions about quilt size before purchase-- it never hurts to pull out a measuring tape beforehand to ensure your quilt or quilted throw will meet your sizing needs. Because this heirloom-quality item is painstakingly handmade from expensive materials, it is not returnable. I encourage you to zoom in on the photos to see the true color and detail in this fabulous Harry Potter fabric pattern.

I've had these Harry Potter inspired fabric patterns privately printed for my use; the fabric is not available for sale anywhere and yardage isn't available.

All quilts are handmade by me in a smoke-free studio. Everything is laundered in fragrance-free Dreft before it's carefully bagged, boxed, and shipped to you. All postage is calculated using insured USPS Priority or first class international rates. Please check the "Shipping & Policies" tab above for current production times.

Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. Gets even better with time.

Colors and intensity may vary from screen to screen-- I've done my best to provide a realistic view of the throw using untouched, natural light photos, but if you have any questions or would like additional photos or clarification, please just let me know and I'll be happy to provide whatever you need.

***Please double check your shipping address! I subsidize the shipping rates on heavier orders to keep the customer's cost as low as possible, but if an order is returned due to an incorrect shipping address, the actual postage fee necessary to reship the order is the responsibility of the buyer.***

FAQs

In order to create a special one-of-a-kind quilt, I have had many of these fabric designs privately printed for my own personal use. The fabric itself is not available for sale by the yard and is not commercially available anywhere.
Your quilt will be custom made especially for you and you can expect it to ship 3 weeks from the date of your order (quilts marked READY TO SHIP will ship in 1 or 2 days); this information can be found under the "Shipping & Policies" tab inside each listing.

You'll receive a notification with a tracking number from Etsy as soon as it's on its way. In the meantime, if you click on the "You" tab at the top right of the Etsy site, you can check out all of your purchases (including shipment eta and tracking info) under "Purchases and reviews".

Thank you for understanding that I'm personally making each and every quilt by hand to your custom specifications, and that kind of attention to detail takes time.
I love to take on custom work (nonrefundable 50% deposit required upon initial agreement) and I do so as often as my project queue allows at any given time. Whether or not I can take on a project depends on the size of the quilt, the level of intricacy involved, and the availability of materials. If you see something listed for sale that you would simply like in a different color scheme, that's typically a request I can easily accommodate. If you're looking for something truly custom, or if you'd like a one-of-a-kind memory quilt made from articles of treasured clothing, please contact me with details and we'll see if we can work out a timeframe.
It varies by quilt - each listing specifies all the sizes available in that pattern. I typically make three sizes: a 35" x 27" baby wrap, a 52" x 35" crib size, and a 70" x 52" adult couch size. If you're interested in one of theses sizes and it's not available for a particular quilt, please contact me and let me know. I don't often make custom "in between" sizes simply because the fabric I use is very expensive and I try to minimize scrap waste. I'm not currently making quilts large enough for a full, queen, or king size bed. It's never a bad idea to pull out a measuring tape and actually physically measure to make sure a specific quilt or quilted throw will meet your sizing needs.
All of the quilts listed in my shop are made with materials designed to be machine washed and dried. You can certainly hand wash and line dry if you prefer, but please feel free to toss it in the wash on a warm temperature setting and then throw it in the dryer on low heat with confidence. I don't recommend hot water, high heat, or any kind of iron.
Are you having your quilt purchase sent directly to a loved one as a gift? Yay! Aren't you wonderful! I'm more than happy to add a personalized note with your quilt-- simply add what you'd like your note to read in the "Message to Seller" box at checkout and I'll take care of the rest. I never include any price or invoice information in your order (unless it's specifically requested).

All quilts will be carefully folded and sealed inside a large plastic storage bag; in the event that your Priority Mail box or mailer is inadvertently left in a wet environment, the watertight bag is going to protect the quilt inside.
No. I only make the quilts and blankets you see listed in my shop.
