This pair of hand painted Midcentury Modern porcelain Clown Figurines are so sweet. They are both carrying musical instruments and wearing polka-dot clown suits with red and blue polka dots and gold gilt accents. I think they would make adorable vintage Birthday Cake Toppers for a child’s birthday. Or, add them to your clown collection.

Era: 1950s

Well, I've actually given this some thought. Once upon a time, there was a thriving manufacturing sector in the U.S. It still exists, but much of our modern, ready-to-wear clothing and our disposable economy has resulted in many items now being made overseas. So, vintage items tend to be made from materials and fabrics that are on the higher quality side. This isn't always the case, but if you wonder why some vintage items cost more than new, this is one of the reasons.
Oh, you would be surprised! I'm constantly on the hunt for my next treasure, and I have to admit that they don't always make it into my shop! Shhhh!
