Description

Richard Ruh Epperly (1891-1973) Graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1914. Also studied in Paris with Lhote and Marchand. Settled in Oak Park, Illinois in 1941. His greatest recognition was as a portrait painter.

I have copies of his Retrospective exhibit at the Springfield Art Association in 1985. Good biographical information. One of four (4) that I have by this artist.

Painting is an oil on board; size is 16" x 20," plus frame. Signed. Conserved (cleaned of all the yellowing varnish) to bring out the original colors. Best interpretation is the first picture shown.
