The juicily-hued curves of the handsome cherry red vintage Chevy in this classic car detail photograph drew my eye (and lens) with an irresistible pull. The Chevrolet's flawless paint and silver chrome, fairly glowing in the evening light, easily indicated that this red 1939 Chevy Master DeLuxe is definitely somebody's "baby" (and I'll confess to wishing she were mine).

Thanks to the red Chevy's perfectly polished steel, the old car reflects everything around her. The golden sun setting behind the clouds winks at us from the right side of the car's red hood; a more bountiful cluster of white clouds and a glimpse of Main Street can be seen on the left. This being a car of the 1930s, the Chevrolet's hood is split right down the middle by a silvery stream of chrome.

Resting commandingly on the right side of the photo's frame, the '39 DeLuxe oozes Art Deco glamour: a nose flanked on either side by ample, curvaceous "catwalk" fenders, one of which extends to the left side of the photograph; the round headlight, sculpted from glass, silvery chrome, and cherry-red steel, nestling into the curve of the fender and reflecting the horizontal chrome grille beside it.

The era's Art Deco and Moderne influences on Chevrolet's 1939 DeLuxe is easily discernible in this photograph of the classic car—her clean lines, the neatly spaced bars of the chrome grille and "gills" on the side of the car, aerodynamic curves of the fenders and nose, the chrome bar connecting windshield to grille by running straight down the vehicle's nose. Chevrolet's famous blue bow tie rests on an elongated shield of red and silver tucked beneath the silver frame of the grille—a shield that would in later years change shape and eventually disappear, but one that seems fitting for a car of this era.

Just behind and beside the red DeLuxe, the tails of 1960s muscle cars can be seen—powerful, yes, but they don't really exude the sleek sophistication of the 1939 Chevy starring in this photo.

This luscious crimson 1939 DeLuxe is perhaps one of the most beautiful classic cars I've ever had the privilege of shooting (red being one of my two favourite colours doesn't hurt, of course)—and this is one of my very favourites of all the vintage car photographs I've taken over the years.

• The limited-edition Chevy photo you receive will not be watermarked.

• I personally sign & number the back of each art photograph. After 776 prints are made, the edition is closed and the photograph will no longer be available for sale.

• My photographs are professionally printed at the highest resolution on archival photo paper with a matte finish to be smudge, fade, and water resistant.

• Very few of my art photographs are a standard print or frame size; thus each print has a slender white border surrounding the photograph itself. This border not only allows you to buy a frame 'off the rack', but serves to lend a bit of additional protection to the actual image itself from any serious damage.

• A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included with each photo print.

• Signed photographs are carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue, sandwiched between pieces of foam core, and mailed First Class; other shipping options are available upon request. Once I have a tracking number, it will be sent to you.

• My monitor is professionally calibrated for colour; therefore, the colours in your received print may be slightly different from what you see displayed online.

Returns and exchange details

It is my desire for you to be entirely happy with your purchase, so I try to keep my policies fair.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your photo, please contact me within seven business days after receiving the photo print, and I'll work to come to an agreement that we're both happy with. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs as well as items not returned in their original condition.

Shipping policies

Items will be shipped first-class within three days (smaller prints up to 9x12 generally ship the next day; larger items require a trip to our rural post office and may unfortunately take up to three days to ship). Should I be out of town on a photo shoot or on holiday, I will post this in my shop updates and also note the shipping delay in your emailed invoice.

Your ship-to and payment method addresses need to match. If you're sending the item as a gift to someone else, just let me know in a note at the time you order. If a package is returned to me due to an address error on your part, you will be responsible for the cost of re-shipping the item.

Prints are lovingly packaged very securely and shipped flat, enclosed in acid-free tissue paper, protected by twin pieces of foam core and a Tyvek envelope, all in an attempt to thwart any potential damage during their trip via USPS.

If you'd like insurance, let me know and I am more than happy to acquire it for you and bill you for the amount; usually this is not terribly expensive: about $1 US for an order up to $100.

Should an order be lost or not arrive in a respectable amount of time, we'll do our best to find it together. Ultimately, a lost item will be my responsibility; a replacement print will be sent to you at no cost.

If you prefer a shipping vendor other than the USPS, let me know and we'll work it out. Remember: I want you to be a happy customer.

As few of my finished photographs are standard frame size, each of my photographic prints has a white border all the way around the image. This not only means you can buy a frame 'off the rack' if you do not want a custom frame, but the white border does protect the image itself from errant fingerprints or other unintentional damage.
Since these photographs are my own interpretation of the sights as seen by me, I am sorry, but I generally will not make a colour photo black & white or vice-versa. Occasionally during post-production I'll be unable to decide which I like better and publish both, but while it does happen, it's not often, and the image I do release is not arbitrary, but the one I think best suits the subject and composition. Thanks for understanding this.
