Coastal Big Tree with Faux Stone Sculpture Wall Sconce Natural Scene FREE SHIPPING Natureshaper

"Deep Forest" by Roger Rasmussen, 12/20/2017. A handmade sculpted natural scene, featuring a large faux tree that has been "sculpted by the wind". Build upon faux stone, this is a lightweight sculpture that looks great right on the wall. Handmade in Oregon.

This morphology is typical of Oregon coastal trees perched on bluffs at the edge of the ocean. This model represents a large, "Old Growth" tree. The rocky part is made from a mixture of plaster and grout, casted from impressions taken from anthracite coal.

Care: Occasionally remove piece from the wall, tip upside down over a table, blow gently or use canned compressed air from a distance. It's a good idea to place in a location that will not be available to inquiring fingers!

Materials: Many and various. Tree trunk carved from driftwood, probably Douglas fir. Sea-washed roots from the local beach, pva, styrofoam core (recycled), baked dirt, sawdust, pva, latex paint, rust solution, coconut coir, latex paints, commercially available architectural scenery materials, dried spanish moss, woody beach debris, “scenic turfs” made from reclaimed polyurethane foam & clothing dye, hot glue, yellow glue, white glue, and more. The discipline of Modelmaking requires diverse media!

Size 18" x 11" x 6 inch relief from wall.
Hanging Weight: 2 pounds
Hangar Type: Mirror type hangar (very strong) included, with corresponding piece & screws included.

Certain parts are fragile. Handle with care. To remove dust, item can be turned upside down (with help) and lightly blow using computer-type compressed air cannister.
Yes, as long as it's similar to my usual items, models, dioramas, miniatures, yes, please get in contact! Thank you.
Yes. Models are packaged in deep quantities of shredded kraft paper. This seems to work well. In some cases, boxes are reinforced with wood along the edges. During unpacking, it is important to carefully "tease out" the strips of kraft paper that may become entangled with model details.
