Bird feeder made from used traffic signal lenses made of durable plastic, light weight and strong. Beautiful aqua blue and deep yellow plastic lenses were lighting up the highway years past. The colors will shift and move with the changing light throughout the day.

Materials include new and used rubber washers and hardware, new stainless steel cable. I've stamped a sweet little bird image into some of the hardware. The "s" shaped hooks that connect the base and the roof are re-purposed used brass chain link. The second and last image show the used brass link.

The design allows for the base to be removed from the top and therefor very easy to clean. The base can hang without the roof if you add twine to the loops at the base.

The traffic lenses are very dirty when I get them. I clean them and then use plastic polish to rub out the scratches-but some scratches and signs of wear remain, so there is still a sign of their history. The roof measures 12 inches across and the base is 8 inches across.

Due to the nature of up-cycling, some slight variation can occur among the lenses and hardware. However the differences are very minor and do not affect the overall look of the feeder, and in general are not even noticeable.

Keep it simple; up-cycled materials bird feeder. Rock on!
