Topograph is a richly textured and detailed brooch made from embroidered and beaded felt in a spectrum of colours.

I made the felt from silk hankie fibre, cotton nepps and scrim. Then I added glass beads, tiny sequins and seed, detached chain, colonial knot and bullion knot hand embroidery stitches.

I have whip-stitched around her edges in jet black embroidery cotton, and her back is covered in black felt, with a gold metal brooch finding with safety catch. She measures 7.3cm (2 15/16") in diameter, and she is fairly flat and flexible (about 6mm or 1/4" thick at most).
