BING'S HOLLYWOOD, of which this record is just a part, collected together almost all of the songs sung by Bing in dozens of movies.

This record features songs from the movies WELCOME STRANGER, ROAD TO RIO, THE EMPEROR WALTZ, and VARIETY GIRL. These movies entertained and provided laughs, but were mainly a vehicle to show-case the songs and music, which often transcended the particular movie in which they were performed. There was always a lot of visual and musical energy in Crosby films, and this record captures the musical magic of these movies

There are some beautiful love songs on this record; especially check out the rendering of Strauss' "Emperor Waltz" from the movie of the same name.

The record ends with the single selection from the movie "Variety Girl": "Tallahassee" is a fine joint effort by Bing and the Andrews Sisters.

Catch the powerful trumpet solo on "But Beautiful" by Manny Klein. A great song.

"Friendly Mountains" from The Emperor Waltz, has some nifty whistling.
