The Padma Seat helps you sit comfortably in a correctly balanced meditation posture. By tilting your pelvis forward into correct horizontal alignment your pelvis is under control, this allows your entire spinal column and head to balance above it giving spinal and back support. The knees are supported by the Padma Seat fitting snugly around the kneecaps taking stress off the legs.

Many adult Westerners encounter difficulty when they take up sitting on the floor to meditate. The tightness of our leg tendons pulls our pelvis into a backward slouch. When our pelvis is out of horizontal alignment, the lower back and the entire spinal column are forced into an unnatural 'S' curve. Trying to use our muscles to bring our back upright, and knees out and downward can be painful and exhausting. Sitting in perfect alignment and balance is the only possible way to avoid stressing the muscles.
