The second baseman for The National Puncs, Jonathan Ames is unique in the Novel-T league. The first living author, Ames is also one of the league's most versatile, as he's the first player to be a "switch-hitter:" both an author and a character.
Ames is also the first Novel-T player with his own TV show–HBO's Bored to Death–what a renaissance man! He's situated nicely to take on a play-by-play job for the Mets after he retires.
On the field, Ames is known for his youthful exuberance and the vocal way he supports his teammates. In the dugout, Ames is the club cutup, always ready with a dirty joke, or a funny anecdote from his youth in New Jersey. These days, of course, Ames lives and writes in solves Craigslist mysteries in Brooklyn.
Favorite team: the 1973 Mets.
Artwork featured on front left chest is a original hand drawing of the word Brooklyn with a detectives magnifying glass over the ‘OO”. Within the magnifying glass the “OO” is replaced by the counter space of the Brooklyn Bridge arches. The back of the shirt features the #20 and the Name AMES. This is a must have for all you Bored to Death fans . As George Christopher would say “ I want one of those”.
