Turtlehead, a.k.a Chelone lyonii

"The name, I assume, comes from the plated appearance of the blossom, which somewhat resembles the plates on a turtle's shell, with its open mouth the turtle's head (in French, the plant is called wolf's mouth.)" from - "The Exuberant Garden"

I think of my sister, Heather, when I see the Turtlehead, not only because she is a pretty flower of a lady, but because she has a mess of turtles that she keeps as pet friends.

"Turtlehead” is a print of my original watercolor used in "The Exuberant Garden" book.

The "Turtlehead” image measures approximately 6 1/4"x 10", and is printed on archival cold pressed watercolor textured fine art paper with archival inks. It will arrive to you signed in a protective sleeve in a bend-proof mailer.
