I originally made this bracelet for the Mad Scientists of Etsy Challenge. The topic was Rosalind Franklin, who's x-ray crystallography work was critical in Watson and Crick's determination of the double helix structure of DNA. There's a lot of criticism that Franklin did not get the credit she deserved.

If Rosalind Franklin were still alive, I'd definitely send her one of these. From this charm bracelet dangle the four bases found in DNA: A, C, G, and T. Like all my jewelry, I've rendered the shape of the molecules in quality, recycled/reclaimed sterling silver. The bracelet to which they are soldered is also sterling silver and is 7 inches long. It's so pretty - and so meaningful!

The bracelet will arrive in a cute gift box made of recycled materials. I'll also include some information about the bases - so it's great for gift-giving!

I can also make this bracelet with the RNA bases, in case there are any RNA World-ers out there (like me!).

Customer comments about this bracelet:

“This is the second piece of jewelry I've ordered and my daughter LOVES it! Highest quality sterling silver! Very beautiful and unique.”

“I couldn't be happier with my bracelet. It's so beautiful! The charms sit perfectly on my wrist and the chain itself matches the theme very neatly. For such a delicate piece the quality and care taken in its production is prominently evident and as far as I can see it's a flawless piece of jewellery! :)”

“This bracelet is even more beautiful in person! It's well made and presented in a cute little box with a bow. I had a wonderful experience working with Raven, her responses to my inquiries & my purchase were quick & thoughtful. She helped me give an incredible gift to one of my most important peeps & I will shop here again!”

Frequently asked questions about molecularmuse

I can make custom molecule jewelry, if the molecule will work in my style. Prices start around $150 and the process usually takes 4-6 weeks.
Most of my jewelry is high quality, solid sterling silver. It is specially formulated to resist tarnish, but, like all silver, will tarnish. You can minimize oxidation by storing silver jewelry in a bag or box away from air and heat. Regularly wearing the jewelry can help rub off tarnish. I allow the silver serotonin necklace I wear daily to develop a bit of a patina. It's OK to wear your sterling silver jewelry in the shower.
Your order will come packaged in a cute, recycled paper gift box with a little card explaining what the molecule represents. I tie it with a ribbon, making a pretty package for gifting - no addition wrapping required.

If you are shipping directly to the gift recipient, I'm happy to include a card with your gift message. Just let me know when you order.
